Contemporary art is not only about showing what is happening today. It is also a way of thinking about, questioning, and understanding the world around us. Made in Mind Series III: Narratives of the Contemporary brings together artists who explore the realities of our time through personal experiences, memory, culture, identity, politics, society, ecology, and technology.
The exhibition looks at narrative as something that is always changing. Each artwork tells a story, but that story can be understood in different ways. Artists bring together personal memories, history, imagination, and everyday experiences to create new ways of seeing the present.
The exhibition brings together multidisciplinary artists working across painting, sculpture, installation, photography, printmaking, textiles, video, sound, performance, and mixed media. By working across different forms and materials, the artists create new possibilities for artistic expression and open spaces for dialogue and exchange.
Made in Mind Series III understands art as an ongoing process of experimentation, conversation, and discovery. The works connect personal and local experiences with wider global concerns, showing how artists respond to the rapidly changing world around them.
Within Nepali context, contemporary life is shaped by the meeting of tradition and change. Ancient cultural practices exist alongside new technologies, changing lifestyles, migration, urban growth, and global influences. These experiences create diverse and changing identities. The exhibition therefore does not present one single view, but brings together many voices and perspectives.
The exhibition celebrates art as a space for dialogue, reflection, and new ideas. The artworks are not presented as fixed answers, but as open conversations that invite audiences to think, question, and connect.
Made in Mind Series III: Narratives of the Contemporary brings together diverse artistic voices to explore how we understand our present; and how our experiences, memories, and imaginations continue to shape the stories of our time.
